The first Express Entry draw is conducted by Canada in April

Canada conducted its first Express Entry draw in the month of April and invited 3500 applicants to submit applications for permanent residence in the country.

The results of the first Express Entry draw for Canada PR as per Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). According to the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), the lowest cut-off score is 486 to apply for a program. Further, 3500 invitations were sent out to apply for ITAs.

The latest Canada Express Entry draw follows three consecutive draws. In these draws government accepts the applications of 7,000 candidates. The latest draw took place on March 29, 2023, wherein the CRS accepts applicants with cutoff of 481.

The Canadian government manages to accept applications based on socioeconomic class through express entry. There are several human capital factors, including age, education level, job history, and language proficiency, on the basis of which they draw applications.

Around 21,000 ITAs were awarded to people in four drawings in March 2023. A new record was set for the second-highest monthly aggregate since January 2015. In February 2021, a new record was set with the selection of 27,332 Canadian Experience Class applicants.

Canada has an intention to invite more than 105,000 immigrants through provincial nomination programmes (PNPs) in the upcoming years. Even so, they are planning to grant permanent residency status to 82,880 applicants in 2023 through the Express Entry gateway. In the first four months of 2022, IRCC has already issued more PR in Canada contrasting to last year.

The immigration level plans of the country focus on expecting 105,500 and 117,500 in 2023 and 2025, respectively, via the PNP route. The Canadian government is specifically focusing on PNPs to allow more talent to satisfy their regional objectives.
