According to recent reports, Indian students who are pursuing a master’s degree in France will now be given a five-year long-term post-study work visa. When Modi addressed the Indian community at LA Seine Musicale in Paris on Thursday, he made this announcement.
Earlier, students were granted a two-year work visa; this has been extended to a five-year post-work visa. Narendar Modi said, “The last time I came to France, it was decided that Indian students studying in France would be given a 2-year post-study work visa.”
France has consistently been a favourite destination for studies and work among scientists, engineers, thinkers, writers, and managers. The vibrant cultural diversity and deeply established heritage serve as a welcoming factor for international students. However, the quality education imparted in France is also a considerable factor in pursuing higher education in the country.
According to the needs of international students, France offers a wide range of courses, neglecting the factor of proficiency in the French language. The nation is devoted to assisting around 2.7 million students in realising their educational dreams, with 14% of the population coming from overseas.
France is one of the most attractive nations in terms of international mobility. Following the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia, Canada ranks as the fourth most popular destination for international students. In 2019, around 10,000 Indian students opted to study in France, whereas even in 2020 and 2021, France guided Indian students in the times of COVID. France still stands out as the most popular non-English-speaking destination among other international nations.
