According to Australian University, the leading organization for the Australian university sector, researchers from top universities in Germany and Australia will collaborate on projects focusing on clean energy, artificial intelligence, and health.

Researchers from 23 Australian universities are anticipated to work with their counterparts from German universities on a total of 45 projects that will be supported by the Australia-Germany Joint Research Cooperation Scheme this year, according to a news statement from the organization.

The German Academic Exchange Service will contribute a portion of the funding. The collaboration of Australian early career researchers with their German colleagues is also anticipated to be made possible by a nearly $1 million contribution from Australian universities.

In support of 471 projects, the Australia-Germany Joint Research Cooperation Scheme has received more than $17 million from both nations.

Only 1% of investments in higher education research, according to Universities Australia, may help the economy grow by $24 billion over the course of ten years. This was noted by the organization in its response to the Productivity Commission, which also stated that supporting colleges nationwide entails investing in the future of the country.
