An education visa issuance service has been launched by Saudi Arabia for international students who are planning to study in a Middle East nation. The “Study in Saudi Arabia” visa programme has been launched by the Ministry of Education (MoE) and Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) to facilitate procedures for students planning to study in Saudi Arabia.

The programme was launched during the Human Capability Initiative Conference in Riyadh on February 29, 2024. Under the “Study in Saudi Arabia” programme, new visas will be issued that are specifically designed for international students aspiring to study at Saudi universities. Moreover, the application process will be further simplified for students.

The platform offers students a diverse range of educational opportunities to select from. These opportunities include educational opportunities spanning from short courses to extensive academic programmes. The programmes are such that they meet the diverse academic interests and career goals of students. Additionally, this programme encourages collaboration between culture and academia. The launch of this programme will further support Saudi Arabia’s dedication to enhancing the education sector.

Moreover, the programme has the capability to attract skilled individuals for the goals outlined in Saudi Vision 2030. According to the statistics, Saudi Arabia turns out to be the fifth-most popular study abroad destination for Indian students. There are a number of factors that make Saudi Arabia one of the most popular study abroad destinations, like lucrative scholarship offers and financial aid for international students. According to data from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), over 1.3 million Indian students went abroad for higher education from 2017 to 2022.
