The US Embassy will release thousands of interview slots.

Date:

Thousands of Indian students have applied for F-1 student visas, and the United States embassy has announced that interview slots will soon be available for students. However, the authorities have not yet revealed the dates and timings of the interviews. The students are advised to regularly check the official website for the latest updates, checking once or twice per day for the upcoming appointment release, as stated by the US Embassy.

The officials further stated that they are unable to provide a specific date at this time, but a significant number of appointment slots will be made available in the coming weeks. They also mentioned that tens of thousands of appointments have already been released, with additional appointments for July and August set to be released soon.

According to the officials, Indians have been one of the largest beneficiaries of US visas for several years, including H-1B visas, tourist visas, and student visas. US Ambassador Eric Garcetti stated that one out of every five Indian students has been granted a US visa, and he added that the waiting time for visa appointments will be reduced in India.

The United States has experienced significant issues with lengthy visa processing times, particularly for tourist visas, which have exceeded 900 days since the pandemic began. More Indian students come to the United States compared to students from other countries, with India becoming the top source country last year, a trend that is expected to continue.

In the United States, over 21 percent of the total international student population consists of Indian students. In the academic year 2021-22, nearly 200,000 Indian students were studying in the United States.
